Teaching at National University
Since 2011, I’ve begun teaching as an Adjunct Faculty and creating classes for National University’s online Master of Fine Arts in Professional Screenwriting Program. I’ve been focused on the “TV Writing Track,” where I present an introductory course followed by a 12-week workshop where students learn about the different series genres, pitch multiple concepts for original shows, and ultimately outline a pilot episode for one of their ideas. I’ve also begun teaching “Screenwriting II,” where students embark on a deep rewrite on a feature screenplay they just drafted in “Screenwriting I.”
There’s a great Script Magazine article about the program online.

Hello Erik:
Thanks for the updates. Happy to learn of your appreciation of Blake Snyder’s “Save The Cat”. It has been a large influence on my writing. Blake’s “Save The Cat Goes To The Movies.” is excellent in analyzing many prominent films, in his inimitable personal, one-on-on style.
Best wishes for your continuing successful run…
Stay well… Warren.
