I’ll be speaking again this year at the “Screenwriters World” conference in Los Angeles.  It takes place September 27-29 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City.  I’ll be speaking on “Writing the TV Spec Script” on Friday 9/27 at 6 PM.  I’ll also be part of a panel just before that, at 5, on “ABC’s of TV Writing.”

This is a really big event that seems to be filling the void left by the Screenwriting Expo, and then some.  At the same time in the same hotel as Screenwriters World, the “Writers Digest Conference West” will be happening, for writers interested in fiction, publishing, etc.  One can register for both events, at a discount, and go back and forth — kind of like “park hopping” at Disneyland and California Adventure, I guess..  (The whole event is put on by FW Media, which owns Writers Digest, The Writers Store and Script Magazine.)

There’s also a “Pitch Slam” (a/k/a pitch fest) where writers can present their projects to various industry professionals in person, and there are a lot of other great writers and teachers doing workshops and panels of various kinds.  I highly recommend it.

I see you can also get a $50 discount by using the wonderful Jeanne Bowerman‘s discount code at registration: JEANNE913.
