Erik Bork is a screenwriter best known for his work on the HBO miniseries BAND OF BROTHERS and FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON, for which he wrote multiple episodes and was part of the producing team that won two Emmy and two Golden Globe Awards. In his consulting work, Erik helps writers developing projects across a range of experience levels build stronger concepts, clearer story structure, and more compelling scripts. His practice has supported many hundreds of writers, combining professional-level story analysis with practical guidance on how to move projects forward.

His work focuses on identifying the underlying idea of a story and aligning every major creative decision around it – an approach that emphasizes clarity, cohesion, and narrative drive.

Erik has taught screenwriting for UCLA Extension, National University and The Writers Store, and his approach to story development is detailed in his book THE IDEA: The Seven Elements of a Viable Story for Screen, Stage, or Fiction . He also offers Ten Key Principles Successful Writers Understand, an introduction to his approach.
