This Sunday, August 25, from 10 to 3 is the annual UCLA Extension Writers Program’s “Writers Faire” in the Young Hall Courtyard on the UCLA Campus in Westwood. I’ll be speaking on a panel from 2:20-3:00 on “Turning Unique Story Ideas into Movies People Want to See “. There are a total of 24 mini-panels and workshops hosted by instructors in the program (my first online class on “Finding the ‘Story’ in True Stories” starts October 9). The event is free, and they offer 10% discount on classes to all attendees.
I’m a screenwriter best known for my work on the HBO miniseries BAND OF BROTHERS and FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON, for which I wrote multiple episodes, and won two Emmy and two Golden Globe Awards as part of the producing team. I’ve also sold series pitches (and written pilots) at NBC and FOX, worked on the writing staff for two primetime dramas, and written feature screenplays on assignment for companies like Universal, HBO, TNT, and Playtone. My book THE IDEA: The Seven Elements of a Viable Story for Screen, Stage, or Fiction was released in 2018. Click here to e-mail me.
